Data Pipeline Dag Generator
The Data Pipeline Diagram Generator helps you build DAGs for ETL, machine learning, reporting, and other data workflows.

What Is a Data Pipeline Diagram Generator?
A Data Pipeline Diagram Generator is an online tool for creating visual representations of data workflows. It uses steps and dependencies to show how different processing tasks connect and how data moves through a pipeline.
Because the workflow is represented as a DAG, you can also check whether your pipeline contains circular dependencies.
How to Use the Data Pipeline Diagram Generator
Add Pipeline Steps: Click + Add Step and create the processing steps that belong in your pipeline.
Add Dependencies: Under Add Dependency, select the From Step and To Step to define how one task depends on another.
Connect the Workflow: Click + Add Dependency to add the relationship between the selected steps.
Use Pipeline Data: Use Load JSON to import pipeline data or Export JSON to save the current pipeline structure.
Load an Example: Choose an example from Select example, including ETL Pipeline, Machine Learning Pipeline, or Reporting Pipeline, then click Load Example.
Arrange the Diagram: Use Auto Layout to automatically organize the pipeline diagram. You can also zoom in or out using the diagram controls.
Check Dependencies: The diagram displays the number of Steps and Dependencies and indicates whether cycles have been detected.
Reset or Clear: Use Reset View to restore the diagram view or Clear All to remove the current pipeline.
Download the Diagram: Choose Download SVG or Download PNG to save the generated pipeline diagram.
Data Pipeline Diagram Example
A simple ETL pipeline could contain these steps:
Extract Data
↓
Clean Data
↓
Transform Data
↓
Load Database
Here, each step depends on the previous one. Adding these steps and dependencies to the generator creates a visual DAG showing the complete workflow.
Common Use Cases
ETL Pipelines
Visualize extraction, cleaning, transformation, and loading stages to understand how data moves between processing tasks.
Machine Learning Pipelines
Map workflows involving data preparation, feature processing, model training, evaluation, and other dependent tasks.
Reporting Pipelines
Represent the sequence of data collection, processing, aggregation, and report-generation tasks.
Workflow Documentation
Create downloadable SVG or PNG diagrams that can be used to document data workflows for development and technical teams.
